On 27 April 2026, Iran sent a new gencatan senjata proposal to the United States through Pakistan, acting as a mediator. The proposal aims to ease tensions in the Selat Hormuz and end the ongoing perang yang sedang berlangsung.

As reported by the American media Axios, the proposal offers new conditions for reopening the Selat Hormuz, which has been closed due to the conflict between Tehran, the United States, and Israel. It prioritizes lifting the maritime blokade laut by the United States as an initial step, while negosiasi nuklir are postponed to a later stage.

Additionally, Tehran’s proposal calls for an extended gencatan senjata lasting longer or leading to a permanent end of hostilities.

Islamabad, acting as the mediator, has delivered the proposal to the White House. It remains unclear whether the United States will accept the terms.

President Donald Trump, according to three U.S. officials speaking to Axios, is expected to convene a meeting in the Situation Room of the White House on Monday, 27 April, with senior national security and foreign policy staff to discuss the new Iranian proposal and consider next steps.

The proposal arrives amid a deepening kebuntuan diplomatik between Washington and Tehran, with the extended but fragile perpanjangan gencatan senjata still in effect under pressure.

In this context, Iran’s new proposal seeks to reduce tensions in the Selat Hormuz, but the United States’s response remains uncertain.

Dengan langkah ini, Iran mencoba menekan ketegangan di Selat Hormuz, namun belum jelas apakah United States akan menerima syarat tersebut.
